HEALTHCARE PHILOSOPHY: I have been in the mental health treatment field in various capacities for over 39 years now. My essential belief about my provision of healthcare services to people is that each of us possesses the tools to solve our problems; but, for various reasons, we have gotten "stuck" in our efforts to solve these problems. "It is as if I can't find the right tool for the job, even though I believe that tool is in my toolbox somewhere." My job as a mental health professional is to get you "unstuck", such that I help you determine how you have gotten to this point despite your best efforts; search through your toolbox of personal skills to find just the right tools for the job; and, then supportively challenge you to apply these tools in the best recommended way to solve this personal dilemma. My long-term goal for each person is that you learn to use these tools so well that you need not return to me for assistance. My approach is very direct, honest and non-judgmental, as I believe that all of us get "stuck" at one time or another, and that judgment is the work of God and the courts. I will work with you as briefly as you and I believe is warranted by the problem at hand. I have worked with all ages of people concerning several types of problems. I provide services through several EAPs, managed care organizations, private insurance companies and for individuals who wish to pay out of their own pockets to resolve the personal struggle that is frustrating them. I would welcome a chance to discuss any need you might have, and I hope that you will find me to be as frank, honest, discreet and as friendly as I have attempted to communicate with you here.

Please enjoy my website. It has several interesting features to it including types of problems that I generally encounter by age group; several web resources; an e-mail address to reach me for non-specific, non-treatment related questions or comments; and, as always, a means of contacting me directly (217-774-5861) if you live nearby and are seeking professional services.
